Yoga Festival By The Sea is the Jersey Shore’s Annual celebration of the Global Mala Peace Project.  Forming a “mala around the earth” through collective practices based upon the sacred cycle of 108, the mission of the Global Mala Project is to raise both funds and consciousness for some of the most pressing issues facing the world today.

The People

Reggie & Rick Wegel

Back in 2005, we biked the City By The Sea and sewed our hearts into the thread of Asbury’s eclectic community. After buying a big ole house on Eighth, we wedded at Trinity and celebrated our wedding night at the Empress. After years of heralding to family and friends about Asbury’s unique business and social opportunity, we’re taking the plunge and realizing our authentic dream Yoga Basin.

Regine Flimlin

Forever an athlete, Reggie directed New York University’s Sport and Fitness program. Consumed by post 911 survivors guilt, she rethought her path and found peace through practice. Reggie is a Yoga Alliance 500+ registered instructor.  Her talents lie in the cultivation of group energy, creating dynamic class flow celebrated in the luminous stages of student practice. Her discipline is informed by The Lotus Sutra, Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, The Book of Common Prayer, Nichiren Buddhism, and the Hatha Yoga Pradipika.  Founder of Yoga Festival by the Sea, she continues to pour her creative energy into relevant programming while cultivating holistic applications of raw fresh foods earning her the title "yogini linguini".

Enrique Wegel

His true name is Enrique and he prefers it, so please, feel free to use it. Peruvian born, his European roots (German and Hungarian) were cultivated in his mother’s gourmet shop, the world famous “Lecheria La Merced”. Raised on exotic juices and smoothies (papaya, granadilla, lucuma) along with fresh Muesli parfait have contributed to his discernible palate. Trained as an professional engineer and hobby mechanic (must be his German gene), Enrique is naturally curious about the juice bar equipment and its role in the final product. Combining his passion with his professional has earned him the envious title, “Grand Master Juicer”.
